After getting some feedback on my front cover, one of my peers suggested I add another article where the red box is situated to fill out the front cover and also the make the full bleed image a bit brighter to make all three models stand out.

 

I have taken into consideration what my peer has said and have updated my front cover by adding two more articles on the left hand side, outlined by the red box, as well as adding a slight greenish glow to THE MUNDANES and also by adding a bottom sell line which will fill up the page more and make it more interesting and engaging as well as giving the audience an idea of what is inside the magazine.



 

I will make the image brighter next time to bring out the models better.

I have created a survey for my audience to fill out to help me look over what went well in my magazine and what improvements I could make. To try and get participants to do my survey I advertised it on the social networking sites Facebook and Instagram. The link to my survey is below:

Photo Manipulation

I have uploaded a couple of the photos that I manipulated for my own purpose. Screenshotting it like this and then reminding myself of what I did to achieve this effect lets me know exactly how to replicate this sort of style if I wanted to.

Extra: Album Front and Back Cover

 

I decided to do something extra and create a album cover front and back because that is something an audience will be expecting. To make this album I used the programs Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Powerpoint which, combined together, worked really well, as Photoshop helped alter the images but Powerpoint provided the layout and text. I have mentioned the album in the article in my magazine and so the audience will be waiting for something like this to come out. I decided to keep the covers quite dark because then it fits in with the dark theme of my photoshoot, but I added a splash of colour of red on the back to keep it interesting.

Extra: Suscriber Edition Covers

This is an extra thing I decided to do to engage my readers further. I think creating subscriber editions will encourage the audience to read MM a bit more, and then become subscribers. This will increase the readership and therefore the circulation.

Promotional Methods

The promotional methods was a fairly easy task to do but it took a lot of time to create the promotional photos e.g. importing my band into the side of the bus took a while to get all the proportions and dimensions right. However it will help me when talking about ways to distribute my magazine.

Chosen Images

These are my chosen images that I have decided to use for my magazine, however I may change them if I do not feel that they fit in with the magazine properly. I choose these ones because they are different from each other - e.g some of them are close up, long shots, individual, with other members, with or without instruments. I tried to vary them up to make them more interesting. I have decided to also use the first one of Karishma on the bottom, the first one of Zak on the bottom and the 2nd one down of Connor to be used as the front cover images for suscriber edition magazines.

Contact Sheet

The contact sheet is going to be helpful because it allows me to see all my photos in one place and I can then easily compare them against each other and I can see which ones may be useful in my magazine. It also shows that I have a range of images to choose from - some are close ups, long shots, mid shots, two shots etc and some have a direct address while others do not. The contact sheet also shows the difference between using the white background and black background the immediate effect it has on the atmosphere on the photos - the black one gives off an eerie, mysterious tone that the white one does not, despite the same costumes being used. Finally, the contact sheet also displays the difference in costume and illuminates the different personalities coming out in the photos.
